The post holder will be required to will work as a key member of the team within the department to manage operational issues, taking independent action when necessary including; a. Recruitment and retention of staff b. Undertaking annual appraisals c. Management of sickness d. Management of annual leave e. Ongoing review of resources to ensure work is covered at all times The post holder will work without supervision and manage own workload and that of the Urgent Appointment Team, ensuring that all referrals are managed in accordance with national and local guidelines and that appointments are booked within standard and non-attendance managed appropriately. The post holder will be responsible for the validation of patients on a cancer waits pathway, ensuring that first appointment adjustments are accurately recorded and all information is correct on the system prior to monthly cancer waits submission. The post holder will be required to deal with enquiries from GPs, patients, clinicians and other staff groups across the organisation regarding the Urgent Appointment Team.
