What you'll be doing:
To undertake regular and ad hoc tasks to support the Deputy Group Tax Director in the application of policies and procedures relating to tax compliance, whilst ensuring that tax throughout the business is calculated as per the legislation and is reported/paid on time to avoid any penalties.
Key Responsibilities:
* Contributing to the day-to-day tax compliance for the business in relation to VAT and Employee Tax (excluding payroll).
* Taking ownership for the reverse charge calculation, cycle to work calculation, NED taxable expense calculations and PAYE Settlement Agreement taxable benefit analysis.
* Contributing to the day-to-day tax control and risk processes, including meeting with stakeholders to collate and report data for the tax risk register.
* Responsible for the completion and submission of monthly CIS return to HMRC and accountable for coordinating any required payments to HMRC.
* Supporting members of the Group Tax Department on projects and activities, as required.
Who we're looking for:
You will be a recent graduate from a finance or maths field, or you will currently be studying towards AAT or ATT.
You will be seeking to start and build your career within a finance or accountancy team with an interest in tax accountancy. You will have a willingness and ability to learn and keep up to date with changing tax legislation and to consider its application across the business.
You will have good skills in Excel with the ability to develop good knowledge and understanding of the systems used within the team.
You will have strong communication skills, able to work well with a range of team members, who is able to effectively prioritise their work to meet important deadlines. You will be eager to learn and develop yourself with the self-confidence to suggest improvements and remedies to existing processes.
