Job summary We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed practice nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Rochdale Road Medical Centre for 2/3 days a week. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, is a team player and who has patient care at the centre of their daily work. We are looking for someone who has excellent knowledge of Primary Care to provide practice nursing services to the practice population and deliver care within the boundaries of their role. Main duties of the job The following are the core responsibilities of the practice nurse to carry out competently without direct supervision following practice protocols: Childhood immunisations General immunisations Cervical cytology Health promotion Chronic disease management Contraception and sexual health advice Home visits The ideal candidate will: Be registered with the NMC Have at least 2 years experience working in a GP surgery Have up to date documentation and training, Be happy to undergo a DBS check Be confident in using Emis Web and Docman About us We are a friendly, patient focused, team orientated practice situated in Middleton serving 6000 patients. Our team consists of 2 GP partners, 1 salaried GPs, 1 practice nurse, 1 HCAs as well as a fully established admin team. Our practice is also a training practice. The ability to empathise and reassure patients. Including breaking bad news. Ability to work independently (within own scope of practice) and work effectively as part of a team. To work within approved clinical guidelines/protocols, have an awareness of when to refer patients for further clinical assessment.
