Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
This is a Full Time (10 PA) post joining another 3 fulltime consultants and 2 specialty doctors in the Acute General Adult Inpatient wards in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. If interested applicants are looking for a less than full time role we would encourage them to contact us. There are a range of opportunities that would facilitate less than full time working and NHS Lothian psychiatric services have a strong track record in supporting consultants to develop their role and job plan through less than full time work. We have also been exploring options to work across a sector with patient responsibility in both inpatient and community roles.
