Join us as an Apprentice Operative – Quarry Materials
Take the first steps towards an exciting career in the building materials industry.
Working as part of a team, you will actively participate in the manufacturing process of our aggregate products at our quarry in Inverness. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the entire production process.
You will develop technical skills, industry knowledge, and play a crucial role in maintaining high safety and environmental standards. You will also complete our Professional Operative Development Programme (PODP), which provides a strong foundation in site operations. Learn more about the qualification here.
Role Responsibilities
* Develop skills in operating mobile plant equipment and fixed plant systems.
* Participate actively in safety briefings and risk assessments, suggesting ways to reduce safety risks.
* Maintain a proactive attitude towards health and safety, reporting near misses and unsafe behaviours.
* Liaise effectively with customers and the public to ensure safety on site.
* Work outdoors in varied conditions, always prioritizing safety. Full protective clothing and equipment will be provided.
* Operate production equipment such as cranes and forklifts.

Educational Requirements
Preferably Scottish Nationals A-C (9-4) in English and Maths. Grades D will also be considered, with additional support available from the college.
