This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced clinical pharmacist to join our dynamic, innovative children's pharmacy team in Leicester in a newly funded Neonatal Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner role. You will be working closely with key stakeholders across several clinical areas, patient safety and primary care on both trust and system wide initiatives. Key contacts will be our CMG lead pharmacist, neonatal consultant team, neonatal matrons and ward manager. The post holder will be expected to liaise with East Midlands neonatal network. The post holder is expected to be a role model and contribute and lead on ongoing development of pharmacy services in neonatology (depending on experience) as well as having an active role on relevant regional and national neonatal projects. An independent prescribing qualification will be required for the role, or a commitment to work towards one. Key to this role is collaborative working and excellent communication skills, good insight into clinical governance related to neonatal medicine and pragmatic solutions to complex problems. Main duties of the job
* The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a highly specialised pharmacy service to patients across the Trust.
* They will be expected to provide expertise to pharmacy, nursing and medical staff (within the Trust and externally) on the management of individual patients, ensuring the safe and efficient provision of medicines and pharmacy services to our neonatal areas.
* They will be expected to integrate with the relevant clinical teams to ensure efficient transfer of clinical and medicines management issues.
* They will take overarching responsibility for all pharmacy research and audit projects within the service and be responsible for overseeing training including undergraduate placements, trainee pharmacists and diploma including independent prescribing.
* Will provide pharmacy clinical services to neonatal areas at the trust.

Responsible for the provision of pharmacy services to the neonatal units across UHL.
Specific responsibilities include:
* To ensure the provision of high quality, safe, comprehensive (clinical, supply, financial and operational) pharmaceutical service to the Trust.
* Delivery of high quality, innovative, advanced practice pharmacy clinical services in both in-patient and outpatient settings.
* If a prescriber, to undertake clinics within a specific area.
* Clinically screen prescriptions.
* Provide expert clinical advice to the neonatal areas.
* Provide pharmacy input to MDT and ward rounds.
* Provide pharmacy support to the neonatal transport service where required.
