We are looking for a Management Accountant to work in our team on a 3-6 month fixed term contract. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller the Mana gement Accountant is an integral position within the finance department. The key function of this role is to a nalyse financial information and implement effective strategies to enhance overall business performance, completing the day to day tasks of accurately recording and reconciling financial transactions within the accounting software. T he Management Accountant has overall accountability for preparing, developing and applying findings from financial reports. Responsibilities include maintaining financial policies and management information systems, alongside establishing effective communication channels to inform management on all aspects of company finance. Y ou will conduct relevant cost analysis to determine the existing expenses and give suggestions for future activities, putting together and presenting financial reports that give senior managers insights into the business performance such as forecasting the likely income from a new product or investigate where costs could be saved in a business process. We are looking for a management accountant with an exceptional mathematical mind combined with a strong business orientation. You must be able to assume responsibility of cost accounting tasks and be both a strategist and a decision maker. The goal is to contribute to the decision making process of management that will ensure business growth and long-term success. This is an Office based role in Skelton, Birdswell Court, TS12 2LQ To be considered for this role you MUST: Have s olid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices. Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation. Excellent knowledge of cost accounting and reporting. Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Working knowledge of financial software and MS Office. An a nalytical mind with an aptitude in math. Good attention to detail, looking closely at work to identify and correct errors, spot and improve weaknesses and produce a near perfect result. Problem-solving skills to determine the source of a problem and find an effective solution. An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way. A good business understanding. 2 years previous experience in a similar finance role within a busy team. Knowledge of Sage 50. Experience of end to end ownership of accounts. Experience of accounting practices, financial management and best practice, financial reporting. AAT Level 4 or part qualified Accountant: CIMA/ACCA or ACA (QBE accepted). BSc/BA in accounting, finance or similar field. Be able to work from our Skelton based office - Birdswell Court, TS12 2LQ Day to day you will be responsible for: Preparation of accurate and timely management accounts Preparation of relevant balance sheet reconciliations, in line with group policy Completion of intercompany reconciliations Completion of commercial reporting and margin analysis Analyse company data and financial information providing financial insight to inform all stakeholders Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts Continually be looking to improve all financial and non-financial processes Communicate financial results and forecasts in a style appropriate for non-finance stakeholders Ensure compliance with all financial regulations Other ad-hoc tasks as requested by key stakeholders/line manager Management and submission of CIS Returns Completion of Project Reporting and variance analysis Preparation of weekly Cash Flow Forecast and Project Reports Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations. Advise on problems and suggest improvements Assist with training and recruitment of new staff members. Mentor and support members of the finance team. Motivate and inspire team members when tight deadlines approach and morale or energy is low. Liaise with clients, managers, and other stakeholders. Who is Host & Stay?
