Amentum, a premier global technical and engineering services partner, seeks a skilled Quality Management Professional to join our team in Warrington. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and assurance, with experience working in the nuclear industry.
This role is responsible for ensuring that the Project Quality program is implemented correctly and that the supply chain understands and adheres to quality requirements. The Senior Quality Engineer will maintain and administer quality and safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
* Attending and actively participating in Project Lead Team meetings.
* Providing input to the Head of Profession meetings.
* Attending client meetings and providing relevant information.
* Participating in Project Quality Kick off Meetings with the supply chain and client.
* Updating and providing KPI data for the project to ensure that it is being collated and presented for Amentum and Corporate reporting.
* Responding to customer complaints and deficiency reports, working with the project team to take appropriate measures to resolve.
* Staying current on quality control practices and trends through training, publications, seminars, conferences and related trade shows.
* Recommending new processes or inspection methods to improve quality.
* Coordinating with contract ESOH Manager (via Amentum Quality Manager) to develop and maintain health and safety environmental policies and procedures that align with the quality program.
* Managing the Quality Control Grading Training and maintaining adequate SQEP records to evidence completion. Ensuring Supply Chain is aware of and adheres to the requirement.
* Providing QE expertise and support as per the project requirements and/or Amentum Corporate.
* Conducting compliance, internal and sub-contractor/supplier audits, investigating non-conforming products/processes and ensuring effective corrective and preventive action is taken to close out NCRs in a timely manner and in accordance with Amentum/client requirements.
* Facilitating and supporting project team/supply chain with root cause analysis, corrective action, and continual improvement of processes.
* Ensuring the supply chain plans and manages Life-Time Quality Records, engaging with the Supply chain to ensure that they are fully aware and cognizant of the records requirements. Monitoring the compilation of records generated in support of activities performed on a highly regulated nuclear site.
* Ensuring Toolbox talks and LfE is collated as required by the project.
* Determining the inspection, test and compliance regime to be applied to a project by reference to the project specifications and associated documents.
* Managing and being responsible for the timely productions, review, approval, management and verification of supplier Manufacturing Inspection and Test Plans required for activities performed on and off site.
* Ensuring the quality of the project, product, records, service and their supporting processes meet the standards and specifications required by the associated NEC4 contract.
* Attending inspections as required by the Programme.
* Providing input to the Amentum International Quality Management System.
* Implementing the arrangements identified in the Project QA/QC Strategy within the project; typically this will include the Project Execution Plan.
* Monitoring and receiving supplier Quality Plans and Inspection and Test plans with the appropriate hold witness and review points.
* Promoting company and client quality objectives and expectations.
* Investigating and documenting all instances of contract non-compliance as relates to quality, safety and unsafe practices.
* Reporting any unusual discrepancies or problems promptly to Amentum Quality Manager and client leadership and providing recommended solutions. Coordinating with department managers, supervisors and workers to improve and/or resolve issues.
* Conducting special evaluations, quality surveys and audits. Compiling reports and findings of surveys and audits for company officials for review and making action recommendations as required.
* Directing internal/external management audits, preparing formal audit reports, and defining audit schedules. Ensuring full adherence to ISO9001.
This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
A degree in Quality Assurance or a related subject, combined with proven experience in the field, is essential for success in this position.
