Job Purpose
To enable an active 35-year-old young man with severe learning difficulties and complex communication needs who is non-verbal and has challenging behaviors, to live in his own home and engage in everyday activities. Also to support the man out in the community.

Main Duties

Essential
1. Knowledge and Experience of working with people who have Severe Learning Difficulties and Autism.
2. Experience of working with people who have complex and challenging behaviors and be prepared to undertake ongoing training.
3. First Aid and Epilepsy Knowledge (training available) and to be attentive and alert at all times regarding clients' safety.
4. To be able to engage and encourage the client at every opportunity.
5. To hold a Clean Full Driving License.
6. To respect the client's dignity at all times.
7. Must be able to work as part of a team and report regularly to a Team Leader.
8. To have high standards of hygiene.
Preferred
1. Physically active and have a good sense of humour.
2. Basic food preparation and cooking skills.
Summary Terms and Conditions
1. You will be reimbursed for any agreed expenses as part of this role.
2. The rate of pay for this position is £12 per hour.
3. You will be working on Sunday Afternoons for 6 hours, and other times to be discussed with the Employer to cover annual leave and sick leave.
4. A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer.
5. Satisfactory passing of mandatory training care courses.
6. Satisfactory references from two referees, one of which must be your current or last employer.
7. Completion of a satisfactory probation period of 6 months.
