The Department of Engineering at Harper Adams University has a world leading reputation in developing innovative engineering solutions to tackle many challenges in the agri-food sector from farm to fork. The department is at the forefront offering an exciting range of engineering courses and delivering innovative applied research projects including projects in ground based off-highway vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, unmanned aerial vehicles and the development of innovative agricultural machines and systems to support smart autonomous farming.
Exciting developments with new undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programmes, applied research and a number of knowledge exchange initiatives has presented the opportunity to recruit a Mechatronics Technician / Teaching Assistant, to support the delivery of applied practical teaching and research in an area of increasing importance.
A key element of the role is to provide technical and teaching support in mechatronics, robotics and autonomous systems in the Department of Engineering in new and emerging areas of engineering and technology. The role will actively involve supporting and contributing to teaching, research and knowledge exchange activities undertaken in the department and across the university
Experience/Qualification required
Degree level qualification or equivalent industrial experience in mechatronics or robotics. Relevant experience in mechatronics design, manufacture and testing. Good communication and time management skills.
