We are looking to recruit registered nurses to join our large team of dynamic and skilled nurses working in endoscopy. Applicants need to have recent acute NHS experience. Although it is desirable to have previous endoscopy experience full training will be given.
Endoscopy Unit St Mark’s Hospital St Mark’s endoscopy unit is a World Centre of excellence for lower GI endoscopy. The unit consists of 6 procedure rooms. The unit carries out approximately 25,000 procedures per year. The procedures carried out are varied and include diagnostic and major therapeutic Gastroscopy (OGD), Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, Bronchoscopy & Double Balloon Enteroscopy (DBE). St. Mark’s Hospital Endoscopy Unit also hosts the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Endoscopy Unit ACAD Central Middlesex Hospital The endoscopy unit consists of 2 procedure rooms within ACAD plus a Fluro-room to perform procedure which need an x-ray facility and an emergency endoscopy room in the X-ray department in the Central Middlesex Hospital. The procedures carried out are varied and include Gastroscopy (OGD), Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, ERCP & Bronchoscopy.
The successful candidates will be required to work varying shifts as the unit is open from 08.00 to 18.00 and will be required to work on an on call rota. At present the unit is open form Monday to Friday but in the future routine lists will likely run at the weekend.

patient care

Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and the unit collectively
To develop in assisting in the general management of the endoscopy unit, ultimately undertaking full responsibility in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility
