Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE
Responsible for the completion of statutory thorough examinations of lifting equipment, NDT inspections, load testing and use of Rope Access techniques as required. All works to be completed in accordance with all relevant legislative, client and company standards, while applying Centurion’s core values to all activities. Ability to successfully deliver works as part of a team or individually, maintaining good communications with both clients and colleagues and within agreed timescales.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Act as a positive ambassador for Centurion Group
• Act safely, remain professional and apply technical knowledge while expanding competencies
• Carry out statutory thorough examinations on lifting equipment in accordance with all relevant standards, utilizing Rope Access techniques when required
• Perform NDT works where qualified and as required, in accordance with all relevant standards
• Carry out load testing utilizing test rig, known weights or water bags as required, in line with Centurion or client procedures
• Actively look to ‘problem solve’ whilst on the job
• Guide and mentor other inspectors where experience allows
• Only carry out inspections and testing of equipment within assigned competencies and qualifications
• Successfully support or lead inspection scopes as required, liaising with the customer and Centurion office staff
• Create all job specific Centurion documents as required and submit in a timely manner, ensuring details are correct and are signed by client
• Manifesting of company equipment, including reporting of any damaged or missing items and preparation of goods for backload
• To report on the condition of all inspected items through visual or NDT methods using the Centurion reporting system in a clear and concise manner, ensuring all details are correct
• To formally report all defects/indications found in a timely manner at the end of each shift; Or where the defect poses an immediate danger, verbally report immediately with follow up formal written report
• Report any safety issues/incidents, conflicts or major defects found on critical equipment to client and Centurion focal points as soon as possible
• Prepare on site risk assessments and raise required permits prior to commencing work
• Ensure worksite is kept in a safe condition and left tidy at the end of each shift
• Attend all safety meetings/briefing as required by Centurion or the client
• Attend and complete all training courses or inductions as required by Centurion or the client – these may be online or in person
• Worldwide travel to client sites and assets as required
• The job holder may be required to carry out any other related or associated roles, tasks or duties, which they can be trained, instructed and supervised to do safely and according to changing business requirements.

Qualifications and certification:
Essential:
LEEA Foundation Certificate (FOU)
IRATA Level 1
MPI – ASNT or PCN L2
DPI – ASNT or PCN L2
ET – ASNT or PCN L2
UT– ASNT or PCN L2
Desirable:
SCQF Level 7 Modern Apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 in technical subject HNC/HND in technical subject
Further LEEA Diplomas/Qualifications
Further NDT techniques such as UT 3.1/3.2, 3.8/3.9 and VT – CSWIP or PCN L2
Wire Rope Inspection/Socketing
IRATA Level 2/3
Crane Inspection Training – LEEA or NSL Modules
Working towards or willing to obtain above qualifications.
(Proven relevant work experience at a comparable level may be accepted in the absence of formal qualifications at this level)
Full UK Driving licence (if position involves driving a company vehicle, licence must allow driving of manual vehicles)

Wire Rope Inspection
Crane Inspection – capable of conducting Crane NDT/LOLER Inspections/load tests
Minimum of 3 years spent working within the industry related to lifting equipment and NDT
General knowledge of lifting equipment and its operating environment
General knowledge of the application of NDT techniques
Desirable:
Wire Rope Spooling, Socketing, MRT and Pressure Lubrication
Inspection and Load Testing of Subsea lifting equipment such as Dive Systems and ROV Launch and Recovery Systems
Hull Thickness Gauging
Pipe Thickness Gauging
