Job summary The North London Forensic Service (NLFS) is currently recruiting Clinical or Forensic Psychologists to our Specialist Community Forensic Team. It is an exciting time to join our service as we continue to embed and develop our community forensic provision, alongside multi-disciplinary colleagues and experts by experience. NLFS benefits from a large psychology team with a wealth of experience and expertise to absorb. A range of training and CPD opportunities are available, as well as the possibility of contributing within active Research and Quality Improvement Forums. This role would suit those who hold an interest in holistic, attachment and trauma-informed recovery based approaches to considering human distress, including psychosis, substance misuse and complex offending behaviours. Medium to long term work (without constraints on the length of clinical work) is the norm. Main duties of the job 1.0 WTE Band 7 Psychologist post is available, within the Specialist Community Forensic Team, with opportunities for full or part-time, flexible and hybrid working. This service works with patients who are leaving/have left Forensic Mental Health secure inpatient wards. The predominant base for the roles will be at the Chase Farm Hospital site in Enfield, though travel within community locations within boroughs will be required. The boroughs covered are Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Camden and Islington. The post holder will be required to offer an autonomous psychological service, including a range of psychological assessments and interventions, consultation and training as part of a multidisciplinary team within the service. An understanding of forensic risk assessment, high level communication skills and an ability to engage well with and convey complex or sensitive information to service users, colleagues and external agencies is essential. Support and supervision of more junior psychological staff may also be required.
