TEAM
Reporting to the Group Reporting Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant role sits within the Group Financial Reporting (GFR) team and is an integral member of the wider Group Financial Reporting & Control team. Internally, the GFR team are accountable for monthly Group management accounts, managing the month end close and CFO sign-off, producing monthly CFO reporting and AMB (Airline Management Board) and Plc performance reports including cash reporting. For easyJet Group’s external financial reporting the team deliver the Group Annual Report and Accounts and half year disclosure working closely with Investor Relations, Company Secretariat and the 3rd party ARA publisher. Additionally, the GFR team are responsible for easyJet’s relationship with the company auditors, oversight of the Group balance sheet and are the functional owners of easyJet’s Finance GL and Fixed Assets ERPs.
JOB PURPOSE
The Financial Accountant is responsible for supporting the Group Financial Reporting Team in producing its deliverables, both internal and external. In addition to a focus on statutory reporting, the role focuses on the extraction and analysis of data, the production of written commentary and the interaction with stakeholders across the business to ensure that all reporting is accurate, timely and insightful.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Assist in the production of monthly board pack pages for the PLC Board and the Airline Management Board.
2. Lead on the internal reporting of key performance indicators including a variety of financial and non-financial areas such as operational performance, customer satisfaction, and our network.
3. Own the monthly balance sheet revaluation process, managing the stakeholder relationship with treasury to ensure accuracy across all ledgers.
4. Work with multiple teams throughout finance to ensure key elimination entries and month end processes are complete to deliver a timely month end close.
5. Assist in the preparation of monthly, half year and full year primary statements for the Group. In addition to this, act as the auditor’s main contact for statutory disclosures.
6. Support the wider Financial Reporting team during the half year/year end processes, including reviews of balance sheet reconciliations, audit papers, external reporting, and investor slides with relevant insight.
7. Take responsibility for the quarterly compilation of the ‘Factbook’ (a key source of data for senior management), including preparation of the templates in the reporting software, communication to contributors and coordination of submissions, updating of the finance pages and undertaking the first review of submissions.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Qualified accountant able to embrace large, complex, preferably fast moving, entities.
2. Excellent analytical skills with an ability to demonstrate an excellent grasp of variance analysis and the key drivers.
3. Able to communicate and challenge effectively with key stakeholders at all seniority levels in the organisation.
4. Ability to explain finance to non-financial stakeholders both verbally and written (PowerPoint, Word, email).
5. A proactive team player.
6. An ability to work on own initiative, and has the confidence to offer solutions.
7. A true self-starter, with high levels of motivation and enthusiasm.
8. Excellent Excel skills and Planning Analytics or TM1 Development experience preferred.

LOCATION & HOURS OF WORK
This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend three days per week in the office.
