Carry out full surveying duties on individual contracts as and when required
Assist Commercial Manager/Lead QS in advising on commercial risk/opportunities within projects at tender/bid stage
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting thereon
Assist with the control of claims preparations and negotiations
Provide assistance and advice to project teams on contractual, financial and commercial issues
Assist in the preparation of monthly CVR and quarterly reviews and ensure same are produced to the company standard
Assist and preparation of monthly contract review summary including financial forecast to completion
Monitor/oversee subcontract procurement, accounts and payments
Monitor cash flow ensuring timely valuations, certification and payment
Ensure timely settlement of final accounts
Assist in completion of contract documents
To dispute resolution / avoidancemain contract and subcontract
Liaison with Project Administrator in relation to contract documentation/PTPs/warranties/bonds etc.
Monitor insurance issues
Provide training to assistants/trainees to a standard commensurate with the surveyor job role
To ensure projects are delivered to budget and target margin
Assist in the development of the supply chain in association with Supply Chain Manager
Ensure production of accurate reports as required by the senior management team
Ensure post completion activities are managed, ensuring rectification of defects, Final Certificate and any retention is released promptlyHave you got what it takes:
QS Degree or equivalent
Good data interrogation skills
Commercial awareness
Experience of management accounts
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Must have commercial contracting experience
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Strong leadership & negotiation skills
Experience in people management
Must be proficient, timely and accurate data entries
Understanding and compliance of financial and performance reporting
Full UK driving licence
