Are you a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker looking for a rewarding role in education? If so, GSL Education are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a school in Poole on either a full-time or part-time basis, with an immediate start. This is a fantastic opportunity to support students with disabilities, helping them to thrive in their learning environment.
About the Role: As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a key role in assisting students with physical, learning, and sensory disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support to access education effectively. You will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to promote independence, confidence, and well-being among students.
Disability Support Worker Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with disabilities.
* Assist students with mobility, personal care, and access to learning resources.
* Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet individual learning needs.
* Encourage students to develop independence and self-confidence.
* Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to implement learning plans.
* Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
Disability Support Worker Requirements:
* Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, ideally in an educational setting.
* Knowledge of SEN and disability support strategies.
* A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with students.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
