North Lanarkshire Council is the largest social landlord in Scotland with 36, tenants. This post sits within the finance function providing support to the Housing service.
Reporting to the Income Manager, you will be part of a small team dedicated to the control and reporting of house rent income in excess of £m.
You will manage the various payment methods and ensure the smooth running of the daily Direct Debit processes. This will include ensuring effective controls are in place to identify and correct, in a timely manner, any errors or omissions and identify better practices to reduce the recurrence and impact of these. You will contribute towards the administration and maintenance of the rent accounting system including system updates, development and testing as and when required. In addition, you will be responsible for the production of periodic rent and asset management information.
This role includes the supervision, direction and training of Income Assistants.
To carry out this role you be educated as a minimum to an HNC/SVQ3 level or equivalent and have extended experience in a busy finance/administration environment.
Excellent Excel and Word skills are essential as are analytical and interrogations skills along with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
You will be a confident, self-motivated individual with good communication skills.
Experience of HSMS – Housing Rent Accounting system, Direct Debit and BACS processes and knowledge of other finance related systems such as general ledger or debtors are desirable.
The post will follow the hybrid model of home-working and office-based work in the Civic Centre, Motherwell.
