Service Engineer
Field-based in the Leeds area
Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours

Are you a Service Engineer, or an aspiring Service Engineer, looking to take the next step in your career by joining a successful and rapidly growing global company? Are you passionate about Ecological Transformation and being a part of making a change to the planet?
If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our leading water technologies company, where you will play a pivotal role in providing our clients with best-in-class quality service. You will provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support. You will be expected to go on the 'On Call Rota' for weekend/out of hours work once fully trained.
Responsibilities:
* Observe, abide by, and enforce the Company's and client's Health & Safety policies.
* Present a professional image to customers whether by telephone, in writing, or in person.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with customers ensuring punctuality, helpfulness, and courtesy.
* Adopt a flexible approach to customer needs and working hours.
* Timely reporting to Service Manager on progress or delays.
* Complete and submit risk assessments, work reports, activity reports, and all other documentation on time.
* Complete site tasks and activities as required.
* Look for recommendations and opportunities to improve the client's system (reliability or productivity) and provide quotations for parts, consumables, plant upgrades, and refurbishment work when appropriate.
* Liaise with the appropriate sales team on any potential leads.
* Provide feedback on future product development, features, and functions.
* Provide regular updates to your line manager on any issues that may impact the Company financially, reputationally, or operationally.
* Carry out commissioning work on standard equipment.
General Requirements:
* NVQ or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or similar (ideal but not essential).
* GCSE or equivalent - English and Maths.
* A full UK driving licence is required.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Experience with the water industry is advantageous but not essential.
* Knowledge of the Healthcare and Scientific market is desirable.
* Experience as a Service Engineer or in a Technical Support role is advantageous but not essential.
* Passionate about providing first-class service to customers.
* Able to handle challenging conversations with customers and find resolutions.
* Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing.
* Demonstrable experience of building strong working relationships both internally and externally.
* A professional approach to work and communication with colleagues and customers.
* Good level of IT competency.
* Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Able to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks.
