The Company Our client, a well-established accountancy practice based in Stone, is seeking an AAT Accounts Assistant to join their growing team on a permanent basis. The Role As an AAT Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role within this Stone-based accountancy practice. You will be supported and trained to prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and audit-exempt limited companies within a diverse portfolio of clients. Your responsibilities will include: • Preparing income and corporation tax computations. • Performing bookkeeping duties. • Preparing VAT returns. • Creating cash flow forecasts and projections. • Engaging directly with clients, including face-to-face interactions. You will bring at least two years of experience in a practice environment, possess strong accounting skills, and have a solid working knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in Sage and a sound understanding of income and corporation tax are essential. The successful candidate will be a proactive team player, keen to contribute to the development and success of both the team and the wider firm. You will have a passion for delivering excellent client service and be an effective communicator, both in person and in writing. Support will be provided for ongoing professional development, including the opportunity to work towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications. Requirements To succeed in this role, you should ideally meet the following criteria: • Experience working in or a desire to work in a practice environment. • Strong accounting skills and familiarity with recognised software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). • Proficiency in Sage and knowledge of income/corporation tax. • A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to team and firm success. • Exceptional client service skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
