Applications are invited for a Band 6 Specialist Nurse for the Bladder and Bowel Care Service in the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
Are you passionate about providing excellent care for your patients? Are you looking for a specialist clinical role in a highly dynamic and expanding service, committed to staff development as well as evidence-based treatment for patients? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Specialist Nurse to join our Multidisciplinary team, Exeter and East Devon community Bladder and Bowel Care clinics.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients to stay healthy, when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
We believe that everyone should have access to excellent bladder and bowel care, and our service promotes this with holistic assessment and a wide range of treatment options. Our multi-disciplinary team of Specialist Nurses and Pelvic Health Physiotherapists are responsible for a varied caseload.
As a specialist clinician you will be actively involved in managing your own clinical caseload. You will be encouraged to take part in education and training events both locally and nationally to develop your own knowledge base and professional development. You will also have scope to provide education to a wide group of people with opportunities to be creative in the way this is delivered.
Previous experience is desirable; however, we are interested in applications from enthusiastic clinicians who wish to develop specialist knowledge and skills in this area and provide person-centred care within a Multidisciplinary team context. A full induction programme will be provided.
This is a community-based post and you will be required to drive between clinics and to participate in wider team activities within the Trust both in person and through MS Teams events.
You will provide compassionate care and act as a role model to others within the service, plus support the Clinical Lead and team leaders to provide an integrated, outstanding quality service.
The service is also responsible for a large home delivery service for incontinence products, and you will be required to guide Community Nurses and wider service users to make clinically sound decisions regarding pad use, while assisting the business manager and clinical lead to maintain an economically secure service.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
Interview Date: Monday 25th November 2024
