Applications are invited for a fixed term part-time Service Manager for Children's Services. This Service Manager role will primarily support the Children's Programme Lead and Project Manager to ensure the safe and effective transfer of the Children's Cancer Principal Treatment Centre (PTC) in South London from the joint PTC run by the Royal Marsden and St George's (SGUH) to the Evelina Children's Hospital.
The post holder will also take on responsible for operational management and the effective and efficient delivery of services provided within Children's Services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the scoping and delivery of associated operational and work projects as SGUH looks to define and implement new service opportunities longer term following exit from PTC service delivery. They will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day planning and delivery of key projects within the overarching programme of work.
The post holder will need to maintain a good understanding of the fast-paced and changing environment as the PTC transition work develops, supporting the Project and Programme Leads to respond appropriately. The successful candidate will have strong operational and project management skills to support the project management and delivery of the PTC transition. They will work in partnership with appropriate management, clinical staff and others to ensure support and engagement for their project(s) and embed programme outcomes and deliverables, supporting the Programme Lead in their work with the Clinical Divisions to facilitate, review and support the implementation of the new model of care for the PTC and strategic transformation plans with NHS England as commissioners.
The Service Manager will manage an Assistant Service Manager and other senior administrative staff and will work in partnership with the Matrons, Ward Managers, Care Group Leaders, medical staff and other staff within the Care Groups.
