Our client, who are a well-established organisation based within Stoke on Trent, are looking for a tenacious and well-organised individual to join their dynamic, friendly team as a Quality Assurance Inspector.
Job Description:
The role of the Quality Assurance Inspector is to ensure that all processes across the business adhere to current ISO standards and will require a contribution to the improvement in the quality of the items manufactured by the company. You will be an educator who can offer guidance and coaching to the production personnel, and you will be pivotal to creating a Quality Assurance procedure that is Production-centric.
The role of Quality Assurance Inspector will involve:
1. Promoting good Quality practices by educating people and supporting all employees
2. Embedding a culture of pro-active risk management and H & S
3. Ensuring all new starters are inducted correctly and trained for their duties
4. Ensuring operatives are following appropriate Safe Systems of Work
5. Taking responsibility for equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose (calibrated)
6. Developing and implementing quality check procedures for all processes
7. Maintaining KPI’s for the department – collate and report on performance
8. Regularly reviewing quality standards and ensuring skilled workers are working to appropriate standards
9. Ensuring jigs are made to the correct standard to ensure consistent manufacturing
10. Conduct and record quality checks
11. Carrying out regular product inspections during manufacturing to ensure they match drawings and job descriptions
12. Reviewing quality performance with team members and supervisors
13. Reporting any quality issues through the correct channels and in a timely manner
14. Liaising with other internal departments and attending meetings as required
Candidate requirements for the Quality Assurance Inspector:
15. Good understanding of Quality policies, procedures and documentation
16. At least three years in a similar role
17. IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Outlook
18. Experience of ERP software and ISO internal auditing would be advantageous
19. Good understanding of engineering drawings
20. Positive attitude – Self-motivated individual who can work using their own initiative
21. Outstanding time management skills with a flexible approach to work in a changing environment
22. Ability to work calmly under pressure whilst adopting a can-do attitude
23. A team player who acts with integrity and respect for others
24. Quality process or improvement qualification would be desirable
25. As a minimum, GCSE Maths & English at Grade C or above (or equivalent)
Working Hours – Monday to Thursday 8:30am – 5pm, Friday 7:30am – 3pm (some flexibility)
Salary – £ 24,000 – £ 26,000 per annum depending on experience
