Paraplanner - Wokingham
Our client is looking for a talented Paraplanner to join their team based in Wokingham. This will be an office-based position. You will be supported by a full team of administrators and work alongside Financial Advisers to prepare recommendations and produce suitability reports in line with company policy.
Responsibilities:
* With 5 years of paraplanning experience, you will be able to write two multi-pension and investment suitability reports per week, or 5 simple suitability or review reports per week.
* Lead the preparation of suitability reports for approval by the Financial Adviser, in line with company policy, and prepare associated documentation as required. This includes pre-completion of documentation ready for clients to check and sign.
* Hold at least Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning or equivalent to act as a knowledge bank for queries of a technical nature in the absence of the adviser.
* Responsible for day-to-day paraplanning tasks, identifying missing information in client cases, working with advisers and the administrative team to obtain necessary details, and subsequently writing a suitability report for adviser approval.
* Act as a Paraplanning mentor for less experienced team members, providing guidance for their development.
* Record all client communications on the client's file in clear English, including communications with third parties.
* Assist in identifying planning areas and sourcing solutions to meet client needs, including tax calculations preparation when necessary.
* Provide support with administrative functions when required, such as new business processing, income matching, and organizing planning meetings with clients.
* Liaise with product providers and third parties to gather additional information for client assessments and recommendations.
* Deal with technical queries from clients and commit to continuous personal development to stay updated.
Essential Education, Qualifications & Training
* 5 years of Financial Services Paraplanning Experience.
* Technical knowledge validation through internal assessment.
* Completion of short compliance, money laundering, and basic knowledge tests during probation.
Knowledge and Ability
* Detailed technical knowledge of Financial Services in an IFA environment.
* Over 5 years of Paraplanning experience.
* Ability to write two multi-pension and investment suitability reports per week or 5 simple reports per week.
* Experience in completing pre-report file assessments, TVC experience, and producing various financial reports.
* Excellent attention to detail, ability to work with the Administration team, and ensure compliance standards are met.
* Ownership of cases from start to finish and regular communication with Advisers regarding client needs and objectives.
* Regular updating of Paraplanning report templates in line with changes.
