What you need to know about the role
As an Electrical Engineer in our Scunthorpe Rod Mill Engineering Team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and leading our Electrical Craft Team Leader and Team Member colleagues. Your leadership will be crucial in supporting our electrical team within your assigned plant area.
Your expertise in electrical maintenance and installation techniques will be instrumental in ensuring our processes, systems, and equipment meet all legislative and business standards. Additionally, your skills will drive the development of innovative and efficient working methods, fostering continuous engineering improvements that benefit our business.
What We Need to Know About You!
Practical understanding and execution of engineering tools, techniques, and key performance indicators is crucial for identifying and implementing improvements in equipment, processes, and systems within our department.
A thorough understanding of reliability management tools and techniques is essential, including expertise in root cause analysis, defect elimination, and planned preventative maintenance.
We are seeking a self-motivated individual with practical experience in the management and leadership of a small team.
Key Responsibilities!
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Safe and Stable Operations: Ensure safe and stable operations by adhering to health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as industry standards.
* Safety Conversations: Foster a culture that encourages the submission of safety conversations. Regularly conduct positive safety discussions and task reviews, implementing improvements to task methods as needed.
* Performance Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to boost performance, minimize downtime, and increase productivity.
* Performance Analysis: Analyse performance issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
* Core People Management: As the lead for your electrical team in the Rod Mill, you will be responsible for ensuring that team member reviews are conducted, establishing engineering professional competence requirements, whilst creating a maintenance team succession plan fit for execution.
