Westwood Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced CAD/CAM Programmer to join our precision sheet metal fabrication client based in Rochdale.
As a CAD/CAM Programmer, you will play a vital role in transforming conceptual designs into precise manufacturing specifications. Your expertise in SolidWorks (essential) and RADAN will drive the efficient programming of CNC machines, ensuring our products are produced with accuracy and excellence. You'll collaborate closely with our design and production teams to optimize processes and elevate our capabilities.

Working Hours: Mon-Thur 8.30am - 5.30pm, Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm - O/T Available 1 hour in the afternoon Mon - Fri and all day Saturday paid at time + 1/2.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilise SolidWorks to create and modify detailed 3D models and technical drawings based on design concepts and engineering input.
2. Program CNC machines using RADAN software to generate toolpaths and machine code for accurate manufacturing.
3. Collaborate with the design and fabrication teams to optimise designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
4. Identify and troubleshoot issues in the CAD/CAM processes, making necessary adjustments to ensure quality and precision.
5. Maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, software updates, and best practices in CAD/CAM programming.
6. Document and organise programming and design files for easy reference and future improvements.
Qualifications:
1. Proficiency in SolidWorks software is essential.
2. Knowledge/experience using RADAN software would be advantageous.
3. Previous experience as a CAD/CAM Programmer or related role in a sheet metal work/fabrication environment.
4. Experience in Sheet Metal Design work.
5. Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and manufacturing principles.
6. Knowledge of materials, tolerances, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
7. Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on precision and quality.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
