Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 12 year old girl living with my family in Tonypandy.
I have a genetic defect and have also been diagnosed with MPEI (Migrating Partial Epilepsy in Infants) which is a very rare condition and I am the only child with MPEI in South Wales. I am a wheelchair user and I use a hoist. This means I am sensitive to flashing lights, sunlight and hot and cold temperatures. I have a lot of seizures, which can be triggered by movement or if I am over stimulated and can last around 10-20 seconds. I am unable to control my own temperature, have no head control, can’t sit or walk and I am tube fed with a stoma bag. I need to be treated very gently as I have brittle bones. I have many different types of seizure so my father will teach you the signs to look for.
