Job Description
Glasgow City Council is looking for 2 Road Safety Assistants to support the delivery of a city-wide road safety education, training, publicity and active school travel service.
This involves developing a set programme of work and deliver a high-quality service to schools, businesses and community groups throughout the city and assisting with the development of road safety/active travel resources.
The successful candidates will also support local event planning, publicity campaigns and physical activities such as assessment of safer routes and the delivery of cycling/walking/active travel programmes.
It is essential for you to have an HNC in relevant subject for example: communications / social sciences/education/design/media and a full current driving licence.
It is essential that you become a member of the PVG Scheme on taking up appointment.
You should be able to demonstrate effective communication, IT and interpersonal skills.
You will be able to develop and deliver education programmes, events and activities and co-ordinate and deliver local road safety plans.
You will be self-motivated and able to motivate and influence others.
You will have knowledge of education, training publicity methods and partnership working used to reduce road casualties and of the Road Safety Framework.
It is desirable for you to have a SVQ Road Safety and experience of working with children and liaising with external Agencies and knowledge of Active Travel Measures and Road Traffic Act 1988.
