We are seeking a skilled and experienced Transport & Logistics Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of transportation across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to lead and develop teams.
1. Transport Operations Control:
1. Oversee all transport operations for 5 sites, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods.
2. Manage relationships with 3rd party couriers and 3PL partners.
3. Develop and implement strategies to optimize transportation processes and reduce costs.
4. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
2. Planning and Coordination:
1. Plan and schedule transport routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delays.
2. Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics operations.
3. Anticipate and address any logistical challenges or issues proactively.
3. Maintenance and Oversight:
1. Oversee maintenance schedules for all vehicles, ensuring they are in optimal condition.
2. Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with maintenance standards.
3. Manage relationships with 3PL vehicle providers to ensure service quality and reliability.
4. Warehouse and Yard Operations:
1. Supervise warehouse and yard operations at the Head Office in Woolpit.
2. Implement best practices for warehouse organization and efficiency.
5. Staff Management and Training:
1. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of logistics personnel.
2. Provide training and guidance to staff to enhance their skills and performance.
3. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback for improvement.
6. Performance Management and Improvements:
1. Analyze logistics performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
2. Develop and implement strategies to enhance overall logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
1. Transport Management CPC preferred but not essential.
2. Proven experience in logistics management, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
3. Strong understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
4. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
5. Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
6. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Working Hours:
8am-5:30pm Monday to Friday
Salary:
Guild for this role is £40-45k pa plus bonus, which is based on hitting a set annual KPI and varies between £8000-£10000.
