Who You Are You are an experienced Social Worker with a degree in Social Work (preferably classified as Upper Second or equivalent) and HPCP registration. You possess a robust knowledge of child development, social policy, and key legislation, particularly safeguarding. Your skills in communication are excellent, both verbally and in writing, with proficiency in computer literacy to produce precise reports within deadlines. You excel at working directly with children and in partnership with parents and carers, prioritizing the children's needs. You are familiar with diversity and equality principles with a proven track record in culturally diverse environments. Familiarity with attachment theories in risk assessment, successful ASYE completion, and extensive court experience are also advantageous. What the Job Involves In this role, you will provide assessment, care management, and social work services to disabled children and their families under the council's statutory duties and policies. Your tasks include conducting assessments and managing care plans for disabled children and young people, ensuring the most vulnerable are safeguarded. You will actively participate in duty teams, progressing service cases, conducting sec47 inquiries, and undertaking child and family assessments. Your responsibilities extend to representing the Local Authority in Court proceedings, demanding a strong understanding of legal documentation preparation. Working within the Council's policies, you will engage with internal teams and external statutory agencies, ensuring compliance with health and safety and equal opportunities policies. You will work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, to fulfill statutory obligations.
