Responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Utilities transmission systems, ensuring high-quality signal delivery and reliable operation of transmission infrastructure.
Accountabilities:
1. Install, test, analyse, troubleshoot and modify new Utilities transmission equipment/solutions to achieve maximum performance and availability.
2. Provide technical knowledge to the development and deployment of Utilities service infrastructure, driving improved technical and service performance.
3. Design and drive processes to facilitate smooth and seamless deployment of new Utilities transmission services.
4. Supervise the delivery of 3rd party suppliers and contractors to ensure that delivery specifications and standards meet Arqiva requirements.
5. Standardise equipment to minimise disruption and achieve straightforward integration with existing networks/infrastructure.
6. Document Utilities transmission engineering build procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of policies, processes and procedures.
7. Apply standard procedures to solve problems and identify appropriate resolution.
8. Adopt the role of Design Authority (DA) in area of Utilities expertise to ensure the delivery of the end-to-end customer solution and for less complex projects Lead Design Authority (LDA).
9. Bring a commercial perspective to the operation, with a particular focus on cash management, cash preservation and optimising returns on investments made in assets and tools.
Skills:
1. Utilities Transmission - Knowledge of Utilities transmission systems and principles, signal flow/modulation, compression techniques, RAN transmission, amplification, radio communications.
2. Transmission Engineering - Proficiency in transmission engineering principles, design and analysis.
3. Transmission Systems - Knowledge of transmission systems, equipment and technologies such as antennae and satellite.
4. Communication skills - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical information, and provide training or support.
5. Analytical and technical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
6. Attention to detail - Keen attention to detail in identifying defects and ensuring accuracy.
Knowledge & Experience:
1. Experienced in Utilities transmission or related engineering fields.
2. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations for Utilities transmission.
Qualifications:
A degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field is advantageous.
