We are seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager, who will be primarily room-based, that has existing leadership experience, has a passion for early years, and can work alongside the manager to create a wonderful enriching environment.
The ideal candidate must hold a minimum of Level 3 or above in childcare and be prepared to complete further training as required. A DBS check will be taken, and a paediatric First Aid certificate is required or must be willing to undertake training to gain this over 2 days. You must have a minimum of 2 years recent experience within a childcare setting in a team leading/management role. We are looking for someone with a good understanding of the EYFS Framework and the ability to meet OFSTED requirements. The candidate should be dedicated to providing quality childcare where children come first and ensuring that they are cared for in a happy, safe, and stimulating environment.
This role includes managing the setting and undertaking all necessary duties in the absence of the nursery manager, caring for and meeting the individual needs of all children, including all aspects of feeding, personal care, and educational development following the Early Years Foundation Stage. The successful candidate will have key children, plan activities according to children's interests, and will be involved in all daily routines within the nursery. This role also comes with the responsibility of our 2+ years room leader position.
The successful candidate will:
1. Have a warm smiley face, love to laugh, and distribute hugs unreservedly.
2. Have a great imagination and the ability to pretend to eat the most creative playdough food creations realistically, along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
3. Sing in your best singing voice, in tune or not, love Disney songs and nursery rhymes, and show off your best dancing moves.
4. Be able to rapidly count the heads of numerous small people.
5. Remember the names of many children, their pets, and special soft toys.
Finally, you must be prepared to feel loved, special, and important to many young children and their families; there is simply no job like it!
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
It is a 16-20 hour role initially working back to back on 2 days or up to 3 days each. This could be discussed with the right candidate and salary negotiated.
