I am pleased to be paternering with a great business in Morpeth who is seeking a Finance Assistant to provide essential support to their Group finance function. This role involves handling a variety of responsibilities across different Group companies, making it ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in finance. Responsibilities Sales Ledger: Reconcile internal sales ledgers with factoring company ledgers and investigate discrepancies. Manage cash allocation for factored and direct receipts. Support credit control and retention collection. Handle electronic point of sales reporting, reconciliation, and transactions. Set up customer accounts. Purchase Ledger: Process supplier invoices, including matching and agreement to PO & goods receipt. Obtain authorisation for Non-PO related expenditures. Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and set up supplier accounts. Address both external and internal invoice disputes. Expenses: Manage, post, and reconcile all employee expenses and credit cards. Bank: Post and reconcile daily transactions for all group companies’ bank accounts. Data Analysis & Internal Reporting: Produce various internal reports for further analysis. Management Accounts Support: Reconcile balance sheet accounts to aid in the timely completion of monthly management information packs. General/Admin: Manage generic accounts inboxes and handle customer/supplier queries. Provide cover for other finance staff during absences and manage finance-related calls and filing. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a fast-paced finance role. Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grade C and above, including Maths and English. Ideally holding an accounting/bookkeeping qualification (e.g., AAT). Proficient in using SAGE 50 Accounts. Desirable knowledge of the Construction Industry. Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel. Familiarity with data analysis using pivot tables and VLOOKUP's is advantageous. Excellent analytical and numerical skills
