Business Development Engineer
International Mining & Marine Ltd (I M & M Ltd) has an opportunity for a Business Development Engineer - Portable & Fixed Gas Detection to join their team based in Sheffield S6. (National Sales Role, with opportunity to progress – European / Global Sales Role)
I M & M Ltd specialise in the supply, service and hire of gas detection and safety equipment to a worldwide customer base across multiple market segments, Marine (Core Business), Industrial, Utility & Petro-Chemical.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain adequate contact and increase communication with existing customers to ensure IM & M Ltd develop enquiries, with new business growth targets and new business development.
* Supply accurate technical assistance/quotations to clients and colleagues.
* Consult with Customers and Management to achieve growth and new client base to defined new business targets.
* Use knowledge/expertise/experience to increase sales revenue, inclusive of retained margin by developing the customer base, specific to new business growth and assist development of safety product portfolio.
* Gas Detection (MSA, Drager, Honeywell, Crowcon, Riken Keiki) technical acumen to observe application, specify and technically assist clients offering solutions in application to legislation.
* Commercial acumen - monitor, evaluate and ensure profitability - price list and CRM management in conjunction with senior business management, with sales director direction to control margin retention, increase turnover and profitability.
* Deliver new business opportunities & clients, develop supply and instrumentation service opportunities.
* Develop relationships with businesses, identify new business opportunities, and create strategies to reach new customers.
* Technical ability to manage new product introduction and training (internal and external).
* Experience of Marine standards, IMO, ISGOT, COGDEM – Gas detection principles and safety.
* Determine & report opportunities and threats to Sales Director.
* Work with senior business management and department managers in coordination of efficiency of transactions, in fulfilment of client’s supply & service level requirement.
* Ability and understanding of procedures and working conditions inclusive of; continuous improvement, ISO quality, efficiency, sustainability, environmental consciousness of carbon footprint and cost (ISO9001-2015).
Qualifications:
* Confident telephone manner to speak to customers who often do not speak English as their first language.
* Previous Internal / External Sales / New Business experience is essential.
* Excellent organizer with due diligence.
* Knowledge of Maritime shipping and export/import is desirable but not essential.
Hours of work: 37.5 hrs per week. Holidays 22 days + bank holidays pro-rata.
Job Type: Full-time.
Clean Driving License, Own Vehicle, willing to use own vehicle (Mileage and Maintenance Expense Account).
Base Salary From £30,000.00 per year, negotiable on experience with aptitude.
Performance Related – Over-Target remuneration:
* Bonus scheme (Opportunity, after 12 months service to join EOT profit share scheme).
* Commission (Defined per business growth, paid monthly).
Schedule:
* Monday to Friday (Must offer flexibility with travel – Client visits).
* Sheffield, S6 1JF: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
