To this end, NHS Lothian welcomes applications from all sections of society.
Applications are welcome for the above Fixed Term, Full time (40 hours per week) 2 posts based in Royal Hospital for Children and Young People.
Applications are invited for Locum appointments for training at ST3 level with posts to commence on 5th February 2025. These posts will be backfilling vacancies in the clinical services caused by maternity leave and other absences.
All posts involve working alongside the Paediatric ST trainees and provide the same educational opportunities as the ST placements. There are opportunities at each level of training (both first on-call and middle-grade) and the appointment committee will seek to map placements to the training needs and career progression of the successful applicants. The full range of posts available is still being finalised, but there are likely to be some in all hospitals within SE Scotland.
Applicants at ST3 should be aware that this is typically the stage of training at which run-through trainees undertake at least 6 months working in a District General Hospital. Some posts may be offered in other areas of the South-East Scotland paediatric programme subject to agreement with the associated health boards and relevant to the experience and training needs of the appointed candidates. Applicants should have the full MRCPCH.
This post has deanery approval for training and the successful applicant will receive training opportunities at the appropriate level based on previous experience.
There may be a possibility to extend this appointment to the end of the training year. The extension may be at any of the hospitals on the rotation.
