The Lead DO-178 /Software Certification Engineer will lead the software certification efforts for certification planning as well as regulatory compliance oversight for assigned projects and products for all of Aviation Systems.
You'll get support from experienced team members in the area as well as get trained within this specialized field. You will have the opportunity to improve your skills and know-how on the job training as well as extreme coaching and mentoring provided by the staff engineers within the team.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
* Lead programs in determining product certification strategy and certification basis
* Lead compliance planning and determination of means of compliance
* Support/contribute to the creation of cohesive project plans
* Review development artifacts, where applicable
* Perform certification audit pre-assessments of internal projects and external suppliers
* Audit project/product artifacts and verification activities to assess compliance with the certification basis
* Support Customer AR/Regulatory Authority audits
* Support and collaborate with Integrated Project Teams to resolve audit Findings/Actions/Observations
* Support/participate in industry working groups
Qualifications
* Direct design experience/knowledge with airborne software development and/or certification experience in a RTCA/DO-178B or C environment
* Working with regulatory compliance related to RTCA/DO-178C
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in 'STEM' Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) or equivalent knowledge and experience
