We are seeking a dynamic leader to operate as part of our Senior Leadership team and manage our new Software Group, combining our existing software teams based in the UK and internationally. This global role is based in Wallingford, Oxford, with a hybrid working arrangement. The position will require extensive travel to ensure smooth operations and strategic alignment across all teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for the software trading group's profit and loss (P&L) and will oversee the future expansion of our software business. This role aims to foster, develop, and capitalize on new innovative software tools and technologies within the company’s strategy. The business is targeted to double in size over the next three years. Additionally, the leader will be responsible for staff management and software development-related facilities, as well as enhancing and modernizing the software development techniques employed, with a growing emphasis on software innovation across the entire water sector. This is a varied role and key responsibilities overseeing: Operational delivery of software products and developments Group management Business development, sales and marketing Software delivery and development Innovation and leadership – inputting into the five-year strategy and ensuring emerging software-related research and innovation are met About you To qualify, you will need a degree in business, engineering, or science, or substantial senior-level experience. Demonstrable financial capability is essential, along with significant experience in software sales and development. You should have experience managing an international sales team and reseller networks. Proven skills in people management, data analysis, and budget management are also essential. You will be able to demonstrate leadership skills with a track record of critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Independent working, taking the initiative, and staying calm under pressure will be essential. In addition, you need to be confident and articulate with the credibility to persuade, good communication skills, influence and be diplomatic. This role needs to be within a good commutable distance to our offices in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. We are happy to explore flexible working arrangements although substantial time will be required to integrate with our head office teams.
