The post is for a Consultant in Palliative Medicine for Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care Foundation Trust. The Integrated Specialist Palliative Care Service includes both the acute and community specialist palliative care teams.
This role is based at Tameside General Hospital but includes support to the hospital and community specialist palliative care teams. The post holder will also work closely with Willow Wood Hospice senior clinical team to develop specialist palliative care services that meet the needs of a diverse population across Tameside and Glossop.
Main duties of the job
The appointee will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering palliative care services for the whole of Tameside and Glossop. They will contribute to a seamless palliative care service to patients within Tameside and Glossop. The Consultant in Palliative Care will work closely with other clinicians involved in the provision of care to patients with life-limiting disease in the hospital and community.

Skills / Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration and Licence To Practice
* MBBS or Equivalent Substantive Post - Must be entered on Specialist Register (or entry within 6 months)
* Wide range of experience including significant work in the area of specialisation
* Evidence of interest in personal development e.g. through research and/or publications
* Works well within a multi-disciplinary environment
* Obtained CCST/CCT through formal training programme
* Higher Medical Degree (MD or MSc)
* Significant record of publications on relevant topics
