This vacancy is for a Business Administrator Apprentice based in Darwen.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to support the business with general administrative duties as well as other ad–hoc duties defined by management.
ROLE PURPOSE
Our primary role at HGHQ is to support our family of Independent Opticians. As a People Apprentice, you'll rotate through key areas of the People Department understanding the full Employee cycle. Areas include Talent Acquisition, People Services (HR Administration), Payroll, and Learning & Development. You'll be a vital part of a dynamic and entrepreneurial business, learning from experienced professionals and contributing to impactful initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
During your apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to develop a well–rounded understanding of the People Team and the overall business by working within the following areas with full training in each task:
Talent Acquisition
* Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job adverts, screening applications, and scheduling interviews.
* Support initiatives to attract top talent, including employer branding and social campaigns.
* Collaborate with the team to deliver a seamless candidate experience.
People Services (HR Administration)
* Maintain and update employee records.
* Support onboarding processes, helping to create a welcoming and engaging experience for new starters.
* Assist with day–to–day HR tasks, including preparing contracts, responding to queries, and ensuring compliance with policies.
Payroll
* Gain insights into payroll processes, assisting with accurate and confidential data management.
* Support the team in responding to employee queries about payroll and benefits.
Learning & Development
* Assist in planning and organising training sessions, workshops, and development programs.
* Help maintain training records and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
* Support career development projects to enhance employee growth and satisfaction.
Additional Responsibilities
* Contribute to projects that advance wellbeing, diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies.
* Collaborate on initiatives to improve employee engagement and enhance the overall employee experience.
* Participate in ad–hoc projects, gaining exposure to a variety of People activities and challenges.
Training to be provided
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, QCF.
Functional Skills Level 2 maths and English can be obtained on the course if you don't already hold these qualifications.
