Position Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Site Manager to oversee the delivery of residential projects within our growing construction portfolio. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record managing large-scale residential schemes from groundworks through to completion, ideally within a main contracting environment. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities: Lead day-to-day site operations, managing subcontractors, trades, and site staff to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery. Take full responsibility for health and safety on site, ensuring all practices comply with legislation and company policy. Manage site logistics, including materials coordination, access control, and programme adherence. Interpret and implement drawings, specifications, and construction plans, ensuring build quality meets design intent and client expectations. Drive project schedules, identify potential delays early, and implement corrective actions to maintain progress. Coordinate with the commercial team on procurement schedules, cost control, and variations. Conduct regular progress meetings with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Oversee quality control processes, snagging, and handover procedures. Mentor junior site managers and site-based staff, supporting team development and performance. Requirements: Minimum 8 years’ experience in site management within the construction industry, including strong experience on residential schemes (traditional build and/or RC frame). Solid background with main contractors delivering multi-unit residential or mixed-use developments. SMSTS, CSCS (Black Card), and First Aid at Work certification. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Thorough knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Qualifications: NVQ Level 6 or higher in Construction Management or equivalent. Experience managing projects valued at £10m. Previous involvement in design & build projects and working with housing associations or private developers.
