Driver
Job Purpose:
To assist service users who are either Older People, have Physical Disability Sensory Impairment or have Learning Disabilities, to and from their place of residence to their day care setting.
Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific
1. Provide safe transportation for all, in accordance with all CCBC practices and procedures.
2. Collecting and returning of service users in comfort and safety to their home, including the loading and unloading wheelchairs, special equipment etc.
3. Acting as the first point of contact between service users, parents/carers etc when reporting on their needs and condition.
4. To communicate and liaise with all relevant information to specific parties in accordance to service users care plan.
5. To be aware of personal responsibilities to health & safety and that of the service user in relation to Health & Safety.
6. To undertake and perform any necessary training.
7. Driving any departmental vehicle to be responsible for general vehicle checks, general maintenance and cleaning.
8. To follow all CCBC policies and procedures.
9. To carry out all the above in a sensitive manner which supports and does not undermine independence.
10. To be able to work as part of a team.
Duties and Responsibilities Corporate
1. To be responsible for establishing good working relationships both internally and externally.
2. Compliance with the Authoritys Policies and Procedures and to make known to Senior Officers any areas which are not adequately covered.
3. To participate actively in supporting the Authoritys principles and practices of equality of opportunity as laid down within the Equalities Policy.
4. To be responsible for the application of Health & Safety practices within the daily operations, sharing a common responsibility for Health & Safety across the department, directorate and Authority as a whole.
5. Employees will be required to give certain information relating to themselves in order that the Authority may properly carry out its duties, rights and obligations as an employer. The Authority will process and control such data principally for personnel, administrative and payroll purposes.
6. As a term of your employment and in order to maintain effective departmental operations, you may be required to undertake any other reasonable task, commensurate with your grade, as determined by your Line Manager or Head of Service.
