Job Purpose
Lucy Electric is a traditional switchgear business which is adapting to markets for renewables, electric vehicle infrastructure and the market potential for digitalisation. We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced Digital Solutions Director with an entrepreneurial mindset and substantial experience in technology development and commercial capability. This will be a key role on the Lucy Electric Executive Team.
The business is global, with key locations in the UK and India. A strong R&D and Product team, alongside acquisitions in data analytics and AI capabilities, provide a platform to drive innovation and impact in this space.
The Lucy Electric Executive team recognises that networks are likely to become more flexible through digitalisation, enabling data sharing across the energy value chain and increased monitoring. Our products can enhance power availability as well as remotely control and monitor, with our hardware being automation ready.
This is an excellent opportunity offering significant autonomy to set the roadmap and strategy in Digital Solutions for Lucy Electric. The company is committed to designing and delivering smart customer solutions to enable and enhance intelligent electric networks. The Digital Solutions Director will be expected to capitalise on this commitment, responsible for understanding current market expectations, researching future trends, and translating this into a commercially viable strategy that unites Product, Sales and Marketing, Engineering, and Innovation teams for a coherent vision.

There is substantial growth forecast for smart infrastructure related to the decentralisation, decarbonisation and digitalisation of energy networks. This role will be responsible for formulating and delivering this strategy.
Job Dimensions
* Report directly to the company CEO
* Lead Lucy Electric’s Digital Solution strategy as part of the Executive Team.
* Work with the Marketing, Innovation, Product and Commercial teams to define the commercial positioning and solutions offering for digital solutions.
* Collaborate with the Board, CEO, and Engineering Director to develop and support world-class digital solutions.
Key Accountabilities
Market impact and strategic development
* This position will be critical to the future trajectory of the company, focusing on Digital Growth.
* Expand digital capabilities and solutions across all major markets.
* Design and develop the business model for Lucy Electric’s digital solutions strategy.
* Responsible for research and development and delivery of new products/services associated with the digital solutions strategy.
Global strategy
* Deliver growth in capabilities, revenues, and margins in digital solutions.
* Lead the evolution and delivery of the digital strategy.
* Articulate and quantify the commercial proposition and value of digital solutions.
* Coordinate with Sales, BD, and Marketing teams to position current Digital solutions effectively.
* Guide market-facing resources to analyse strategic market demand and growth opportunities.
* Work closely with Engineering and Innovation teams regarding solutions specifications and developments.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:
* Significant experience in developing strategic direction in digital or related sectors.
* Proven experience at a senior level of product development and delivery.
* Experience in delivering revenue and margin growth, particularly in new product lines.
* University Education/Postgraduate (Masters Degree) in Electronics, Industrial Automation, or technology development.
* MBA preferred.
