This is an exciting opportunity within the Cartridge Case Machining team The role of an Advanced Skills Operator is primarily a production function, however the ASO will be required to engage in indirect/support activities as outlined below. Primary responsibilities include: Work with Engineering and the wider team to develop a capable process on unproven jobs. Prove out complex and basic part programs as necessary and document changes via appropriate forms. Inspect new parts to drawing and manufacture requirements prior to FAI. Assist with production set-ups train where appropriate and document training given Understand customer specifications and produce components to customer requirements. Perform part quality checks as required. Train new and existing employees to the standards required for both setting and operation of all equipment. Train and assess employees including apprentices, in all identified competencies. Report progress to Value Stream Manager and Training Development Manager. Assist Value Stream Manager to coordinate resources in line with production requirements e.g. liaise with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, Stores etc. Provide support within the business unit to ensure efficient and effective use of resources. Any additional tasks or duties deemed necessary to meet the responsibilities of the role. The successful candidate should have - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or similar At least 3 years, post Apprenticeship, in Manufacturing or Engineering Discipline Extensive Turn Mill experience Ability to understand complex part programs Demonstrate leadership and development of processes of improvement We aim to ensure that all applicants are provided with the same opportunities during the recruitment process.
