Sewell Wallis are working with a well-established business as they look to bring in a Finance Manager to support with their year-end accounting process.
This is an urgent requirement for an initial 4-week contract, with the potential for extension. You will be joining a collaborative and high-performing finance team, helping to deliver a robust set of year-end accounts while liaising with key stakeholders both internally and externally.
What will you be doing?
1. Supporting the preparation and delivery of year-end accounts.
2. Reviewing accruals and prepayments, ensuring all expenses and revenues are correctly accounted for in the right periods.
3. Conducting Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, identifying anomalies, and explaining variances.
4. Performing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring key accounts (e.g., bank, debtors, creditors, fixed assets) are fully reconciled and justified.
5. Implementing necessary year-end adjustments.
6. Liaising with auditors and internal teams to ensure a smooth audit process.
7. Assisting with year-end schedules and reporting structures (beneficial but not essential).
What skills are we looking for?
1. Proven experience in year-end accounting.
2. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
3. Strong communication skills to liaise with auditors and senior stakeholders.
4. Previous experience leading a year-end process would be beneficial but not essential.
