Job overview
Neonatal care in Liverpool is going through an exciting period of change with the £15 million development of the Liverpool Women's Hospital (LWH) site and the Liverpool Neonatal Partnership (LNP) with Alder Hey Children's Hospital (AHCH) to develop a single service across the city.
The successful candidate will function as a senior clinical practitioner within the neonatal services at Alder Hey and Liverpool Women's hospital, using expert knowledge and skills to achieve optimum outcome for the neonate and family in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
* Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for the neonate in partnership with the family in high dependency and intensive care nurseries.
* Co-ordinating, supervising and supporting the neonatal staff within an identified clinical area.
* Acting as room leader and supervising and mentoring junior staff, basic and post basic students within the neonatal service.
* Acting as shift leader as appropriate.

* Basic nursing / midwifery qualification
* Appropriate post basic qualification in the specialty
