RMCH admits approximately 1650 critically ill children per year, of which 750 are admitted to PICU. The PICU at RMCH is the biggest general PICU in the UK. In addition, there is an adjacent 17 bedded PHDU. All patient specialities with the exception of post-operative cardiac surgery are cared for.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional and friendly team delivering high standards of care to our patients and their families as they undertake complex treatment. We are currently looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic ward clerk to provide clerical support to the department and achieve an effective and efficient service to our patients.
Main duties of the job
This post is responsible for providing a full range of administration and clerical support to the Paediatric Critical Care Ward Manager, nursing and medical teams across Critical Care in accordance with the relevant policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines. To ensure that administration and clerical issues are managed efficiently on a day-to-day basis, and administration systems are updated in a timely manner. Working with the rest of Paediatric Critical Care, this post will additionally contribute to the reception service on the wards.
