Job Specification: Ground Gas Testing Operative

Our client, the UK’s leading specialist in independent testing, validation, and verification of ground gas protection systems, is looking to add to their team with further Testing Operators.
The role of the Testing Operator is to ensure compliance with the British Standard Code of Practice for ground gas protection systems installed in new buildings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct verification, testing, and compliance analysis on construction sites (residential & commercial).
2. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and site teams, informing them of best practices and how to rectify ill-fitted systems/membranes.
3. Perform inspections using various testing methods to ensure the chosen system has been applied correctly, is working correctly, and meets the required standards for building control.
4. Produce detailed compliance reports for building certification.
5. Implement training schemes for end users, highlighting quality assurance procedures.
6. Use digital tools (e.g., iPads) to document and upload data.
You will need:
1. Full clean driving license (essential).
2. Willingness to work away from home on occasions (most sites are local to your location).
3. Ability to work from home, visiting sites daily.
4. Understanding of the construction industry (education or experience).
5. Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
6. Detail-oriented and organized.
7. Self-motivated and flexible with a willingness to travel.
8. Good writing and IT skills to produce post-site testing reports for use by Head Office and Building control (training given).
9. Possess a valid CSCS card or be willing to train to obtain one.
Training & Development
