We have a new and exciting opportunity for a qualified, band 5 Speech and Language Therapists to join our school and early years teams on a rotational contract based out of St Marks Hospital, Maidenhead. Within these posts you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced therapists and assistants in a range of settings. The aim of these posts is to give you this experience within your first 18 months of working with us.
The rotation would be between the following areas:
Early Years - Working with children under 5 in early years settings, clinics and homes, assessing, diagnosing, and providing intervention as appropriate for young children.
Early Years Complex Needs - As above with additional opportunities to shadow eating and drinking assessments, autism assessments and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Mainstream Schools Team- Working with children and young people of school age, assessing, diagnosing, and providing intervention as appropriate in mainstream school settings.
Special Schools - Working with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals providing intervention and support to special schools caseloads.
For these positions we are looking for applicants with a real interest in working with children and young people. We are open to those who are either already working at a band 5 level, someone who is newly qualified or due to qualify soon.
Main duties of the job
* Provide high quality assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people.
* Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records and provide written therapy plans and reports including contribution to the Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) process and as required.
* Use impact-based clinical decision making to direct therapeutic interventions.
* Work within an integrated therapies team, alongside Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues.
