Applications are invited for a Trust Grade doctor to join our well-established Department of Medicine for older people and General Medicine division based at Basildon Hospital.
The post will rotate between General Medicine and Elderly Medicine. The post holder will be expected to carry out their duties in accordance with an agreed timetable.
The Division have a well-structured teaching timetable and there will be an opportunity to attend specialty specific teaching and well as a weekly medical unit grand round, a multi-disciplinary radiology meeting and PACES teaching (organised by the College Tutor and the RCP Associate Tutor). All trainees and middle grades have an allocated educational supervisor.
We also have an excellent undergraduate teaching programme and undertake OSCES for final MBBS.
Basildon University Hospital provides an extensive range of acute healthcare services for a population of 405,000 in south west Essex, at Basildon University Hospital and Orsett Hospital. We also provide specialist cardiothoracic services for the whole of Essex and further a field at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre, which has a reputation for leading developments in cardiac surgery and cardiology procedures.
