Job summary We are a welcoming and supportive team based in Long Fox Unit. We cover the North Somerset locality and support a diverse local population presenting with complex mental health and social care needs. We are looking for a development Band 5-6 Practitioner with a passion for delivering high quality recovery focused interventions in a community setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified nurse, social worker or OT to complete there preceptorships in a supportive environment. We can consider applicants for both full time (37.5hrs) and part time positions. Main duties of the job The post holder will focus on high quality assessment of service users and delivery of focused crisis based interventions. You will be required to contribute towards the planning, implementation and review of care alongside a multi-disciplinary team. Applicants will have a commitment to working with service users creatively towards their identified recovery goals and to promote choice and self-management. Once band 6 competencies are achieved, all Specialist Recovery Practitioners may at times be required to undertake both assessment and care coordination dependant on the needs of the team. They are required to undertake regular and supported critically reflective supervision with a dedicated assessor, undertake 3 direct observations of their practice and produce 2 pieces of critical reflection, as well as gathering evidence from professionals and service users. In acknowledgement of the significant amount of work required of the programme we have sought and gained agreement from the trust that all newly qualified social workers should initially be appointed at a Band 5 level.
