Payroll Assistant
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised payroll assistant to join our busy payroll department. You will be a vital member of a team that pays employees accurately and on time, compiling information by organising payroll preparation; completing reports and maintaining records required for internal and external use. The role will also provide support to the Finance Department.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the production of designated payrolls within strict timescales.
2. Adherence to the compliance of internal procedures and policies.
3. Adherence to payments, deductions and statutory declarations both legislative and contractual within strict timescales.
4. Assist in the Auditing of final weekly payroll processing.
5. Assist in the processing of weekly paid payrolls.
6. Preparation and printing of employee payslips.
7. General administrative tasks to allow the smooth running of the day to day functions within the department.
8. Provide administrative support to the Finance Department.
9. Enhance Lothian's reputation as an employer brand through all contact with employee requests/enquiries, external agency requests/enquiries and new employees.
10. Develop, produce and monitor meaningful information that reflects on the effectiveness of the payroll strategy and activity.
11. Optimise the use of technology at every opportunity and embrace a culture of continuous improvement in the department.
Essential Requirements:
1. General payroll knowledge adhering to strict deadlines in a medium to large, fast moving commercial organisation.
2. Experience of successfully adapting and providing payroll information timeously in line with business needs and objectives.
3. A strong team player, able to build solid working relationships at all levels.
4. Well-developed communication skills, both verbal and written.
5. Experience of Excel and Microsoft Word.
